Carlton × McIntosh; selected in 1950; tested as N.Y. 50-2. <b>Fruit:</b> McIntosh type; appearance and flavor similar to McIntosh; ripens 2 weeks before that variety; slight tendency to drop as it nears maturity, but not as serious as with McIntosh, with a stop-drop spray of benefit in most years. <b>Tree:</b> growth habit and productivity similar to McIntosh; diploid; full bloom about with McIntosh.
