Orig. in Excelsior, Minn., by the Univ. of Minnesota Fruit Breeding Farm. Named and introd. in 1923. Malinda o.p.; selected in 1913; tested as Minn. 90. <b>Fruit:</b> size medium, like Wealthy; roundish conic; skin an attractive red, dots greenish-russet, conspicuous; core small, closed; flesh white, firm, moderately tender, fine­grained, juicy, mild, pleasant, subacid; good cooking quality; stores well; season January to April. <b>Tree:</b> productive; vigorous; hardy; upright.
