Rome Beauty × Jonathan; cross made in 1914; selected in 1925; tested as Ill. 1. <b>Fruit:</b> medium to small; roundish oblate; skin red, thick; dessert and cooking usage; ripens before Winesap; keeps well in storage through April. <b>Tree:</b> productive; comes into bearing early; blooms in midseason; relatively disease resistant. Named in memory of the late Professor Crandall.
